IU Admits “G-Dragon and I Were Actually Awkward” – Heartfelt Confession After 7 Years
On the March 27 episode of the YouTube series IU’s Palette, K-pop icons IU and G-Dragon reunited on screen, sharing laughs, memories and some long-held truths including a surprising confession from IU: that she and G-Dragon had once shared an awkward dynamic.

“While I was doing the pre-interview, there was one thing that made me go, ‘Huh…?’ GD feels awkward around IU? I heard you said so.”

“Back then, I was 25 and you were 30. I didn’t know how to act around you.”

“I think it was a time when I didn’t know how to act around anyone I meet.”

“I saw you after a long time there. When I saw you again, it felt different—less awkward, more comfortable.”

“Even though we hadn’t met for seven years, when we said hello again, it felt strangely natural—like there hadn’t been any distance at all.”
They also noted that while they hadn’t spent much time together over the years, they still kept in light contact through New Year’s greetings and occasional messages.
